Today's State of Play revealed the first look at the gameplay universe and characters of Konami's upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generations. The game is a brand new entry in the Sonic the Hedgehog series and is set to release later this year. The trailer shows off Sonic and Shadow teaming up to take on a new threat, and it features a mix of classic Sonic gameplay with new twists.

Sonic X Shadow Generations is the first new Sonic game to be announced since Sonic Frontiers, which was released in November 2022. The game is being developed by Sonic Team, the same team that developed Sonic Frontiers. No release date has been announced yet, but the game is expected to be released later this year.
