128th Boston Marathon Returns on April 15th

Participant Information and Start Time

The 128th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America will take place on Monday, April 15th. Marathon participants will be sent off in waves, with the starting order as follows:

• Wave 1: Elite runners, top finishers from previous races, and visually impaired athletes
• Wave 2: Runners with qualifying times between 3:00:00 and 3:29:59
• Wave 3: Runners with qualifying times between 3:30:00 and 3:44:59
• Wave 4: Runners with qualifying times between 3:45:00 and 4:04:59
• Wave 5: Runners with qualifying times between 4:05:00 and 4:29:59
• Wave 6: Runners with qualifying times between 4:30:00 and 5:09:59
• Wave 7: Runners with qualifying times between 5:10:00 and 6:09:59
• Wave 8: Runners with qualifying times between 6:10:00 and 7:09:59
• Wave 9: Runners with qualifying times between 7:10:00 and 8:09:59
• Wave 10: Runners with qualifying times between 8:10:00 and 10:09:59
• Wave 11: Runners with qualifying times slower than 10:10:00

The 2022 Boston Marathon was a marathon race held in Boston, Massachusetts on April 18, 2022. It was the 126th official running of the race. The men's winner was Evans Chebet of Kenya, with a time of 2:06:51. The women's winner was Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya, with a time of 2:21:01.
